How does the mommy makeover work?

In a Mommy Makeover, breasts and stomach are treated in one surgical procedure using plastic surgery. It is possible to correct the problems associated with skin, fat, and muscles after pregnancy with the Mommy Makeover. Mommy makeover objectives:

  • Lift your breasts
  • Remove the excess skin in your belly
  • Improve flanks by removing excess belly fat
  • Abdominal muscle Repair: Rectus abdomnis diastasis

A Mommy Makeover is a great way to pamper yourself, but when should you get one?

An ideal age for a mommy makeover does not exist. When you feel ready to invest in your appearance, it is the right time to undergo the procedure. It is common for women to undergo a mommy makeover shortly after they have given birth, while others prefer to wait until they have older children. Regardless of how you approach your mommy makeover, you can potentially achieve pleasing results.

If you intend to have more children in the future, you won’t be disqualified from a mommy makeover, but future pregnancies tend to negatively impact your results. Thus, you might want to wait to undergo the procedure until you are done having children.

Mommy Makeover Recovery

Recovery times for mommy makeovers vary widely depending on how many procedures you select after consulting with Dr. Oscar Porras. Most patients can return to light desk work or similar activities within 1-2 weeks after undergoing a tummy tuck or breast augmentation, regardless of their needs.

You can resume exercising or lifting between 4-6 weeks after the procedure, depending on the exercise. You will receive detailed instructions on the preoperative and postoperative phases of your procedure, as well as a discussion of the recovery period during your consultation with Dr. Oscar Porras.

Breast Lift

Breast lifts are intended to address sagging breasts caused by pregnancy and breastfeeding. During the procedure, the nipple position can be raised, which has fallen after childbirth due to loss of breast tissue and skin elasticity. Additionally, a breast lift reduces excess skin that contributes to droopy breasts. Many women choose to combine a breast lift with breast augmentation to increase upper and overall breast volume. Breasts that are “deflated” may benefit even more from this combination.

Tummy Tuck

Our mommy makeover patients most often ask about a tummy tuck as their first procedure. Childbearing often affects the abdomen the most. Taking care of your baby may leave you with loose skin, abdominal muscle laxity, and excess fat deposits that don’t seem to respond to even the most rigorous diet and exercise regimen. During childbirth, the abdominal muscles often separate as the baby grows. Surgery is the only option for many women who suffer from this condition. A tummy tuck involves removing excess skin and fat and bringing together separated muscles. It is likely that you will be able to enjoy the results of your post-pregnancy workout routine more fully after addressing these underlying muscular issues.

Liposuction

Liposuction helps restore and improve body contours. It is natural and common for women to gain weight during pregnancy. After giving birth, many women are left with excess fat deposits on the abdomen, back, or thighs. Despite liposuction not being a weight loss technique, it can improve your contour. Our mommy makeover patients often combine liposuction with tummy tucks to achieve the most of this procedure.

Brachioplasty – Arm Lift

Stretched skin under the upper arms or saggy tissue after weight loss can cause sagging under the arms. In order to hide their flabby arms under long sleeves or loose clothing, many people try to hide these «bat wings. » The brachioplasty is a procedure that removes excess skin and tightens the upper arms to give them a more attractive, toned appearance. Using brachioplasty, Dr. Oscar Porras can sculpt and tighten the upper arms at our facility in Tijuana, Mexico.

How do I know if I am a good candidate for brachioplasty?

Weight gain and loss of collagen in the skin can cause the upper arm skin to stretch. As a result, the skin can become loose and sag. In most cases, exercise and diet alone will not tighten drooping skin or tissue under the upper arms. A good candidate for brachioplasty has excess skin on the upper arms affecting their appearance, comfort, or self-confidence. In the weeks before arm lift plastic surgery, patients should be in good health and avoid tobacco products and certain medications.

What is the process of performing an arm lift?

Sedation and local anesthesia are used during brachioplasty, or arm lift plastic surgery. Before your surgery, Dr. Oscar Porras will explain the types of anesthesia used. An incision is made on the underside of the upper arm to remove excess skin and tissue. Incisions and scars can be hidden using different techniques, and the size depends on the extent of sagging skin and tissue. There are some arm lift procedures that require liposuction along with skin excision to remove fatty tissue. A tighter, more youthful upper arm appearance was created by Dr. Oscar Porras by minimizing the size and appearance of the incision and scar.

How Does Brachioplasty Recovery Work?

Bandages and compression garments are worn after arm lift surgery. In addition to reducing swelling, compression garments help the skin and tissue reshape as the arm heals. To remove excess fluid from the surgical site, some patients may have a drain inserted. A prescription pain medication can usually control mild to moderate pain in the days following surgery. In order to reduce the appearance of scars while healing, Dr. Oscar Porras can recommend topical applications. Following arm lift surgery, most patients can return to work and do most of their normal activities within a week. Despite removing the bandages, you may need to wear compression garments to speed up the healing process. One month after surgery, most activities can be resumed, except for exercise and strenuous activities.

In the pubic region, the mons pubis is a fatty tissue directly above the genitals. With weight gain and aging, this area can become enlarged and saggy, changing the shape of the lower abdomen and pubic region, and possibly interfering with genital function. Pubic lifts, or monsplasties, are body contouring procedures that remove excess skin and tissue from the mons pubis to enhance appearance and function. At our surgical center in Tijuana, MX, you can have the mons pubis reshaped by Dr. Oscar Porras to achieve a more flattering appearance and is considered a must to reconstruct in every abdominoplasty.

Is Monsplasty right for me?

In addition to interfering with sexual intercourse and urination, an enlarged or sagging mons pubis may be uncomfortable or unattractive. Pubic lift candidates are unhappy with the appearance of their pubic region below their lower abdomen or have experienced functional problems caused by excess fat or skin. It is most requested by women, but men can also benefit from reshaping the pubic area. Prior to plastic surgery, patients should be in good health and refrain from smoking and taking anti-inflammatory medications.

What Is the Process of Performing a Pubic Lift Surgery?

As a stand-alone surgery, some patients can only receive local anesthesia during a pubic lift. Monsplasty is often performed in conjunction with a tummy tuck or other procedures requiring general anesthesia. Dr. Oscar Porras will carefully remove excess fatty tissue and skin from the mons pubis before tightening and reshaping it. To improve genital appearance and function, a natural transition from the lower abdomen to the pubic region must be rejuvenated and restored.

Monsplasty Recovery: What Can You Expect?

Compared to other types of plastic surgery, pubis lift recovery is relatively short. This is an outpatient surgery that is completed at our facility in Tijuana, MX. It is recommended that patients have a friend or family member take them home after their procedure. There may be some bruising and swelling in the area, but most non-strenuous activities can be resumed within a week. If other procedures were performed during the same time as your monsplasty, Dr. Oscar Porras will recommend restricting exercise for 2-3 weeks or longer.

Thigh Lift

Having excess skin or fat on the thighs can impact the shape of the upper legs for many people. There are a number of factors that can affect the skin and tissue on the thighs, including weight gain and loss, aging, genetics, and other factors. Diet and exercise alone cannot tighten or reshape the thighs. Skin sagging can result from massive weight loss, especially on the thighs. The goal of a thigh lift is to tighten and reshape the upper legs to make them appear more attractive. Patients seeking a firm, well-shaped thigh can benefit from thighplasty performed by Dr. Oscar Porras.

Is Thighplasty Right for Me?

A thigh lift may be a good option for anyone who has loose or sagging skin or tissue on their thighs. The thigh lift may be the solution if you hide your legs in long shorts or skirts due to embarrassment about your thighs, even in Miami’s hot weather. A jiggly inner thigh or sagging skin and tissue on the front or outside of the thigh can be treated by Dr. Oscar Porras. Before undergoing any plastic surgery, you should be in good health and quit smoking and taking antiinflammatory medications.

What is the procedure for a thigh lift?

Medial thigh lifts and standard thigh lifts are the two main types. Only the inner thigh near the pubic area is addressed by the medial thigh lift. To create a firmer, slimmer inner thigh, a portion of the inner thigh’s skin and tissue is removed and then tightened and contoured. In a standard thigh lift, excess skin and fat are removed near the pubic area near the crease, then the thigh is tightened and reshaped. Depending on the patient and the thigh areas that need to be addressed, there are many variations of the thigh lift. An outpatient procedure, thighplasty is performed under general anesthesia. In most cases, a thigh lift can be performed in about two hours. During the thigh lift, Dr. Oscar Porras may perform liposuction, skin removal, skin tightening, and muscle/tissue reshaping.

What is the recovery process for thighplasty?

After your surgery, you will need a friend or family member to drive you home. Bandages will be applied to the surgical area, and you may be required to wear a compression garment to help reduce swelling and keep the skin and tissue in place while it heals. Blood or fluid may need to be removed from the wound site using a drain. In most cases, patients will need two weeks off from work or normal activities. For up to four weeks after surgery, there will be some bruising and swelling. In the following months, some improvement in the shape of the thighs will occur as swelling subsides and the tissue heals. After surgery, most patients can exercise and resume all normal activities within 4-6 weeks.
